My Review
I found Allison Tebo’s Break the Beast intriguing. It is a spin on the legend of Beowolf, but told from the point of view of Grendel. At first, I did not know what to expect because the monster’s view of the world is a dark and angry. However, it set the stage properly for what was to come and made the adventure and redemption more poignant.
We all can be considered monsters when we are not living right because of rejection, anger, greed, or any other motivation that makes us react to the world for selfish reasons. The path to redemption woven into this compelling fantasy story should ring in our heart. No matter what we may have done or been, there is a way to break the chains and become the person we were meant to be.
