March turned into a month where I had to continue taking my time working through everything I needed to in order to pivot to the next things. I did not complete everything I wanted to, but I made progress.
Cyborg Claude
Episode 8 released on March 28th. It feels like only yesterday I started this serial sci-fi. I know some of you are thoroughly enjoying this.
As stated, this story is based on a draft I wrote in 2001-2. It’s taking a lot of rewriting to flesh things out, tweak things to fit more of where I think the story needs to go, and polish it the best I can without professional editing. I’m thankful for those that catch issues from typos to bigger issues to fix. Even if I received the feedback via Facebook or email, I added comments to share what I had to fix.
I have a few fun comments about what people are thinking. The speculation is entertaining. Some of it won’t come out the way they may think it will, but there are tidbits I may twist into the story.
Keep bringing on the feedback. I truly appreciate it and you never know if some speculation you share of what could happen might actually come to fruition. Of course, I hope to keep you on your toes with some of it.
Book Reviews
I had planned on reading more in March, but only completed one book that I had an advanced copy for. Bradley Caffee’s Captive proved a great read. If you like dystopian with an alien twist, this one is for you. The book officially releases on April 15th but the ebook is in preorder and it appears the paperback is already available. Read my full review here and be sure to grab your copy today on Amazon.
Audio Samples and the Future of the Light Series
I had a narrator friend read the first two chapters of Champions of Light. I loved what he did. We are going through it more this week to see what should be tweaked to see if it will be a good match. I think it will be.
The fun part will be funding the audio production of all three novels of the Light Series. I would love to do a Kickstarter for this. However, since I put all three books into Kindle Select for their initial start, I need to have them out of that in order to supply the ebooks anywhere but Amazon. I had planned to go wide sometime this year, anyway.
Stay tuned while I work on this. It won’t be until the end of May before all three books are out of Kindle Select, which puts a Kickstarter in June or July. The primary goal will be funding at least Champions of Light’s audio. The other two books will be add-on goals along with some other fun items to build towards the fun. I don’t want to mention what other fun add-ons I can do until I have things fully researched and set in place. Stay tuned because things will be shared in the next couple of months.
Allies of Majesty Chronicles Vol. 1
Picture is concept for the cover but not finalized.
I kept it fairly quiet, though some knew about my writing of a short story that was accepted for an anthology. My story, Biblio Run, was accepted. The Kickstarter for this book starts today and you can check out the initial information here. There will be more information about all the authors soon.
The anthology contains stories to help potential gamers understand the tabletop RPG game, Allies of Majesty. In this game, you play one of the spiritual beings and you are given assignments to help various humans on Earth. There are spiritual enemies that want to stop you, let alone the human(s) may take some coaxing to take the required path.
The stories range from ancient to modern times. Mine is based in the Dark Ages of Europe, when the monks did their best to acquire and reproduce books that may have been lost otherwise during this turbulent time period.
Conclusion
I have a lot going on, and we’ll see how things go. I might get into my next novel in the mix of everything this month. It depends on how setting up my coaching business, which is going slower than expected, works out around keeping Cyborg Claude rolling along and doing my best with sharing a weekly post on An Abundant Life.
I ended the month with a lot of fun. Pour painting, my mom’s birthday, and a long lunch out with friends after church. I made for a very full weekend, but one I really needed. I am amazed I wrote this on the first day of April. I’m still trying to figure out how March blew on by.
Here’s to April and all the fun it will bring. May your spring be a time of reviving and new adventures like mine.
